RMI Incorporated of National
City, Calif., has been awarded a
$6,145,000 firm-fixed-price contract
for the overhaul of the tank landing
ship USS Qan Bernardino (LST-
1198). The Supervisor of Shipbuild-
ing, Conversion and Repair, Ports-
mouth, Va., is the contracting activ-
ity.

IBM Appoints Marine
Management Systems As
Authorized Dealer
Marine Management Systems,
Inc. (MMS) of Stamford, Conn., has
been named an authorized Interna-
tional Business Machines value
added dealer in the maritime indus-
try for the entire IBM personal
computer product line and accesso-
ries, according to MMS president
Eugene D. Story.
Mr. Story also announced the
appointment of Steve Rossow to
manage the VAD program. Before
joining MMS, he was manager of
micro-computer technology for Al-
exander and Alexander, Inc. in
Washington, D.C., and is a former
vice president and co-owner of The
Logical Choice, Inc., a Washington/
Baltimore area chain of personal
computer retailers.
Marine Management Systems has
been researching, developing, and
implementing computer-based
management information systems
for the shipping industry for more
than 10 years. It also owns 60 per-
cent of a subsidiary, Maritime Data
