www.marinelink.com 53 MEGAFIL Welding Wires Hobart Brothers Company said it has addressed common industry concerns re- garding weld cracking with the introduction of its new seamless fl ux-cored and metal-cored wires designed to offer resistance to moisture pickup and minimize this defect. The new Hobart MEGAFIL wires also have less than 4ml of diffus- ible hydrogen per 100g of weldment, which further mitigates cracking risks, Ho- bart said. Both the fl ux-cored and metal-cored versions of the MEGAFIL wires feature a copper coating to improve current carrying capabilities. A proprietary manufacturing process adds to the consistency of the MEGAFIL wires by ensur- ing a uniform fl ux fi lling, while the wires’ uniform shape helps minimize contact tip wear. These properties make the wires a good choice for both semiautomatic and robotic welding applications, the manufacturer said. The MEGAFIL wires also offer robust mechanical properties, allowing the welds created with these products to withstand the harshest environments. www.hobartbrothers.com Safe & Effi cient Lifting The range of modern air oper- ated hoists manufactured by J D Neuhaus offer safe and effi cient lifting and handling facilities for a wide range of general engineering and industrial applications. The Profi TI hoist range has been upgraded to combine quieter operation, with faster lifting/ lowering speeds while being more energy effi cient as well as incorporating some lighter and more compact build qual- ities. www.jdngroup.com MR #7 (50-58).indd 53 7/1/2014 2:27:59 PM
