Since then, de- tailed performance analysis onboard the VLCC MV Ramlah has reportedly proven the relative fuel savings and emis- sions reductions. With all coating sys- tems, a vessel's AHR (average hull rough- ness) will gradually increase due to the buildup of paint layers and the general deterioration of the paint system, result- ing in increased fuel consumption.
