H Brian King Douglas M. Wolff EBDG Promotes King, Wolff Elliott Bay Design Group (EBDG) promoted Brian King to vice presi- dent of engineering and Douglas M. Wolff to vice president of opera- tions. King joined EBDG in 1988 as the chief marine engineer. In his new role, King will oversee and manage the firm's engineering and technical resources. Wolff joined EBDG in 1992 as the firm's chief naval architect. With the added respon- sibility of vice president, Wolff will oversee the firm's staff of professionals and support personnel and will also head the firm's training program, which includes EBDG's in- house lecture series. Globe Wireless Elects Coles, Whitworth Globe Wireless' Board of Direc- tors has elected Frank Coles as its President and COO. Coles, who has served as the company's managing director for the last two years, is a master mariner and holds a Master's Degree in maritime law. Globe Wireless also announces the appointment of Trevor Whitworth as senior vice president of sales. In this new posi- tion, Whitworth will be responsible for all sales and customer service activities on a global basis. In addition, Walter Kane was promoted to vice president, sales for the Americas. Kane has had a career of over 20 years as a Radio Officer in the United States Merchant Marine and United States Coast Guard. The joint venture, Cummins MerCruiser Diesel Marine LLC, will be headquartered in Charleston, S.C. Under the terms of the agreement, Cummins will supply diesel engines 15 liters and below, including certain elec- tronic displays and other hardware. Mercury Marine will supply the Mercury 1.7 liter, 2.8 liter, 4.2 liter and 7.3 liter diesel engines, drive units for sterndrive applications and their SmartCraft electronic integration hard- ware. The joint venture aims to become the premier worldwide supplier of integrated diesel marine propulsion units. Cummins will retain its current high-horsepower commer- cial marine and auxiliary power business, which will contin- ue to be headquartered in Charleston, S.C.
