MARINE FINANCE Rodriquez Cantieri Navali recently won a con- tract from Adriatic operator Atlas for the deliv- ery of a Monostab 47 stabilized monohull ves- sel, to be delivered in May 1998. With a cruis- ing speed of 34 knots, the vessel will have a passenger capacity of 400. The new vessel, under con- struction at the shipyard's Messina building slips, measures 154.2 x 24.9 x 4.2 ft. (47 x 7.6 x 1.3 m) and features two 1,826 kW power motors achieving a cruising speed of 34 knots with a full load and a 200 nautical mile fuel dis- tance. The Monostab 47 is equipped with a Rodriquez Engineering Seaworthiness Management System (SMS) — a computerized stabilization system which allows for the reduction of roll, pitch and vertical accelerations of the ship.
