PEOPLE & COMPANY NEWS Rosenblatt Creates New Division )hr Feridun Serim Greg Terwilliger M. Rosenblatt & Son, Inc. (MR&S) announced the creation of a new division and the promotion of two employees. The new divi- sion is headquartered in Newport News, Va., and serves the southern U.S., with additional offices situat- ed in Norfolk, Charleston and New Orleans. Feridun Serim, former manag- er of the company's office in Newport News and a 29-year Rosenblatt employee, will direct the daily operations of the new division as vice president and man- ager, Southern Division. Greg Terwilliger, part of Rosenblatt since 1980, will serve as Newport News branch manager, in addition to fulfilling his current capacity as chief engineer of the branch office. KVH Promotes Palmer KVH Industries, Inc., provider of navigation and mobile satellite communications equipment, has promoted Ian Palmer to North America Marine Sales manager. Formerly Commercial Marine Sales manager, he will now oversee all aspects of sales and distribution and will direct KVH's domestic and Canadian sales forces. Prior to accepting this Maureen O'Sullivan position, she was a partner in New Orleans law firm McGlinchey Stafford, LLC, and was the found- ing and managing partner of the firm's Dallas office. Ms. O'Sullivan has worked with Halter Marine Group since 1983 as outside counsel for company prede- cessor Halter Marine, Inc. She also served as outside counsel for Trinity Industries, Inc., the cur- rent company's former parent. BV Names New VP Bureau Veritas (BV) announced that Philip Kimball joined its Stamford, Conn., office as vice presi- dent of Marine Business Development for North America. His responsibilities will include Philip Kimball expansion of the class societ; activities and new product innov tions for the U.S., Canada ar Mexico. Mr. Kimball has prev ously been employed by IV Rosenblatt & Son and C.I Cushing & Co., Inc. This appointment accompanie BVs recent effort to target tht North American market, whict was launched with a $5 million development project in March. ASRY Wins British Safety Award Marketing Director Jonas Svedberg (pictured right) accepts ASRV's safety award from Sir Neville Purvis. The Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Co. (ASRY) of Bahrain won a safety award from the British Safety Council for achiev- ing a below-average accident rate.
