Fixturlaser Introduces Measurement System Fixturlaser AB has introduced a measure- ment system for measuring and aligning bear- ing journals in larger diesel engines, propeller shaft installations and similar applications. The measurement system is based on technolo- gy which includes visible laser light, and pro- vides a resolution of .001 mm/m of the mea- sured value. The system includes a laser transmitter, a position sensitive detector, a display unit and a set of fixtures for measurement of bore diame- ters from 150 to 550 mm. Storage, processing, printing and transfer of measurement values to existing databases from a PC are reportedly possible with an optional A/D converter. The system is targeted at manufacturers of engines, engine workshops, shipyards and companies in mobile machining.
