Cat Pumps Names Stelzner Product Manager Cat Pumps named Scott Stelzner product manager. Mr. Stelzner holds a bachelor's in Aero- space Engineering from the Univer- sity of Minnesota and is currently pursuing an MBA in marketing at the University of St. Thomas. Mr. Stelzner's previous experi- ence as a district sales manager for a high pressure pump manufacturer and his formal training as an appli- cations and design engineer provide him with the insight and knowledge to expand further the industrial products and markets for Cat Pumps. He will be in constant com- munication with Cat Pumps' dis- tributor base regarding industry needs and trends. Surovik Named Interim Galveston Port Director The board of trustees of the Port of Galveston appointed Ron R. Surovik interim port director at the March meeting of the board. Through Mr. Surovik's tenure at the port, he has been involved in all aspects of the business and knows all the intricacies of port operations. A 22-year employee, he is now serv- ing as director of port facilities and a member of the senior staff, and has worked in several engineering department capacities during his work career at the port. Mr. Surovik replaces Doug J. Marchand, who is now with the Georgia Ports Authority. Hartung Named President Of Toledo-Lucas Count/ Port Authority James H. Hartung became president of the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority on May 2, 1994. Since 1983 he has been port director of Burns International Har- bor in Portage, Ind., the state's larg- est port. Mr. Hartung has served three terms as president of the Interna- tional Association of Great Lakes Ports, the organization represent- ing U.S. and Canadian Great Lakes Ports. He was a principal author of the Declaration of Indiana, the first Great Lakes agreement to unify the system's maritime industry. Crowley Unit Makes Appointments Crowley American Transport, Inc. announced three executive ap- pointments. Lew Notaro has been named vice president and general manager, South American services. He is responsible for line and staff management for all land operation functions. John Hourihan has been appointed vice president and general manager, South American services, with overall responsibili- ties for Crowley's liner activities in Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Para- guay, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecua- dor and Peru. Dennis Derby has been appointed vice president and general manager, sales and market- ing. His responsibilities encompass the management of all sales and marketing functions.
