Raytheon Wins $13 Million Contract For Antisubmarine Warfare System The Naval Sea Systems Command's Unmanned Undersea Vehicle (UUV) Project Office (PMO- 403) chose Raytheon Company to carry out the design phase of the MK 30 Mod 2 Antisubmarine War- fare Training Target System (ATS). The MK 30 Mod 2 ATS, which will provide in-water train- ing for submarine, surface ship and aircraft crews to employ their sen- sors and weapons, is a 21-inch diam- eter UUV that emulates the move- ments and acoustic/magnetic signa- tures of threat submarines. The Navy expects to follow the three- year prototype contract with devel- opment and production contracts for approximately 70 systems on exist- ing three-dimensional underwater tracking ranges. The three were built by Tianjin's Xinhe Shipyard, a subsidiary oi China State Shipbuilding Corp. Sembawang now has 23 vessels, and is reportedly the largest private op- erator of harbor tugs in Singapore. The tugs were ordered last year and are part of Sembawang Maritime's ongoing fleet renewal and expansion program for its har- bor tugs and ocean-going tugs and barges.
