Canadian Maritime Industries Association's 45th Annual Conference Event To Include Canadian Shipbuilding & Offshore Exhibition T he Canadian Maritime In-dustries Association (CMIA) is busily gearing up for its' 45th Annual Techni- cal Conference, scheduled for Mon- day February 15 and Tuesday, Feb- ruary 16 at the Ottawa Congress Center and Westin Hotel, in Ottawa, Ontario. The technical conference will again be complimented by the Canadian Shipbuilding & Offshore Exhibition (CSOE), an opportunity for leading suppliers to exhibit products and tout services. "As a result of the resounding suc- cess of the exhibition, we have de- cided to include CSOE '93 on the program for our 1993 Conference," said CMIA president J.Y. Clarke. "This added feature has resulted in a tremendous interest in the confer- ence, which is the largest technical marine conference held in Canada." Exhibiting hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, February 15, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tues- day, February 16. The technical conference's open- ing session starts at 9 a.m. February 17, and it and other sessions will be presented in the custom-built semi- nar rooms in the Congress Hall, to- gether with CSOE '93. The technical conference will, via the presentation of technical papers 56 from top industry officials, address some of the industry's most pressing issues, including: Diesel Engine Ap- plication Requirements for High- Speed Marine Transportation; Envi- ronmental Aspects on Marine Auxil- iary Engines Burning Heavy Residual Fuels; and the Benefits of Engine Analysis. All told, 16 papers will be presented. In 1992 the technical conference and exhibition (CSOE 92) attracted more than 1,200 persons from across Canada and around the world, in- cluding international media and gov- ernment officials Registration for the show opens at 9 a.m. on Monday, February 15 on the Congress Hall level of the Ottawa Congress Center.
