The first ship is scheduled for delivery in July 1991. NASSCO has fixed price op- tions for two additional ships. TAO-187 (Henry J. Kaiser Class fleet oiler)—Avondale has scooped up all but two of the ships in this 18-ship program. The re- maining two fleet oilers have been awarded to Penn Ship. No further orders are planned. T-AGOS—Contracts for eigh- teen monohull ocean surveillance ships have been awarded. Tacoma Boatbuilding has been awarded con- tracts for 12 units. Halter Marine has received awards for six ships. McDermott Shipbuilding has re- ceived contracts for four twin hull (SWATH) versions of the ocean sur- veillance ship. Delivery of the first SWATH ship is scheduled for Feb- ruary 1990. A new SWATH design (T-AGOS-23) is in the contract de- sign stage with ship construction award planned in FY 1990. T-AGS—Four ocean survey ships are under construction. T- AGSs 39 and 40 are being built by Bethlehem Steel-Sparrows Point, with delivery of both ships sched- uled this year. In November 1988, Halter Marine was awarded a con- tract to build two T-AGSs. AO-177 Jumboization— Avondale has been awarded a con- tract to add a 108-foot midbody to each of five AO-177 Class fleet oil- (continued) i 'SPi When there's work to be done, the boat has to be up to the task. It has to take the punishment and carry a big load, safely and smoothly. It has to be a Zodiac rigid-hulled inflatable. For any job from piloting to transport to dive and salvage, there's 7 a Zodiac RIB to handle it. From 15' to 24', with inboard or outboard, it can reach speeds up to 40 knots and carry 24 passengers. Zodiac invented the inflatable, and Zodiac perfected it. For speed, rugged- ness, stability and seakeeping in any kind of sea, it has to be a Zodiac.
