Built to the rules of Lloyd's Reg- ister of Shipping, LR +100 Al + LMC for Red Sea Coastal and interisland service, the Ziway is powered by ZF-geared MTU diesel engines, two model 6V 396TB3s, which each develop 490 kw (657 hp) at 1,650 rpm. The terms of the purchase were not disclosed. In making the announcement, Neil N. Diehl, chairman and CEO of Ingram Barge Company, said: "We are very pleased to have reached agreement with American Barge and Towing for purchase of its marine assets. Ingram's rapid growth as well as this acquisition further illustrates our continuing commitment to the barge transpor- tation business and assures our cus- tomers of our dedication to provid- ing premium service to them."
