Aiken-Murray Offers Brochure On Chemical And Engineering Services Aiken-Murray Corporation, New York, N.Y., is offering a free six- page fold-out brochure and other literature on the chemical and engi- neering services marketed by the company. Included in the literature is an announcement by Kenneth J. Ed- wards, president of Aiken-Murray Corporation, introducing improved "marine" Aiken® Even-Flo® formu- las to tackle today's problems expe- rienced by steam turbine ships and motor vessels. Aiken Even-Flo 910 (MVs) and Aiken Even-Flo 910E (STs) are so- phisticated wholly organic fuel treatments. They incorporate chem- icals that inhibit stratification, in- hibit corrosion, prevent the forma- tion of asphaltic agglomerates, and reduce the surface tension of the fuel. When all of these components are blended into a liquid, the result is a product which causes a uniform mixture to be delivered from the treated storage tanks to the burner nozzles for maximum combustion efficiency and system cleanliness. According to the manufacturer, maintenance downtime is reduced considerably and the resulting fuel savings are many times over the cost of the treatment used. The illustrated brochure dis- cusses Aiken products and formula- tions used in a comprehensive ap- proach which the company has suc- cessfully followed since 1934 in many of the largest and interme- diate size companies on land and at sea in the U.S. and abroad. The aim of the com- mittee is to raise the estimated $12,000 for the restoration and en- dowed maintenance for the coming 85th anniversary of the fire aboard the excursion steamer General Slo- cum, in which 1,021 lives were lost. The disaster has gone down in his- tory books as the second largest inland water casualty in the nation and worst in the history of New York City. Much of the safety conditions for passengers on the nation's inland waters now are the result of reforms made in the laws after this tragedy. Information may be obtained from the non profit Slocum Memo- rial Fountain, Municipal Art Socie- ty, 475 Madison Avenue, New York City, N.Y. 10022.
