A new, highly authoritative source for information on both these subjects is now available. The book- let, "Safety at Sea," was originally published by Viking Life Saving Equipment Co. for distribution in the Scandinavian countries, but re- quests for an international edition from authorities, training schools, shipowners and operators have re- sulted in the availability of an En- glish-language version. The author is J.E. Unden, Com- mander s.g. of the Royal Danish Navy. In 75 pages of factual text, and a multitude of photos and illus- trations, he covers all facets of emergency abandonment of ship and subsequent survival at sea.
