Petrobras Will Order 21 New Tankers At Total Cost Of $840 Million Brazil's state-owned oil company, Petrobras, is reported set to order 21 tankers this year at a total cost of $840 million. With a total capacity of more than 800,000 dwt, they would comprise five supertankers of more than 100,000 dwt each, and 16 small products carriers for coastal service. According to Petrobras president Ozires Silva, all of the orders will be placed with Brazilian shipyards. The first contracts to be placed, for five of the smaller tank- ers, will go to the Caneco, Maua, and Verolme yards.
