The Manitowoc Company Appoints Michael Decker Vice President And CFO Michael Decker Ralph Helm, president of The Manitowoc Company, Inc., recently announced that Michael Decker has been appointed vice president and chief financial officer of the company. He will direct the activi- ties of the accounting, data pro- cessing and treasury departments. Mr. Decker most recently served as treasurer of Becor West- ern Inc. in Milwaukee, Wis. He also held positions of assistant corporate controller, plant controller and as- sistant treasurer of Becor Western Inc., and served as a senior staff accountant of Price Waterhouse. A certified public accountant, he re- ceived a Bachelor of Arts degree in social studies from the University of Evansville in 1964, and a Bachelor of Science degree in business and accounting from Indiana University in 1967. President Vetoes Maritime Amendments Legislation Despite broad support for the bill by Republican Senators and Con- gressmen, President Reagan ve- toed the Miscellaneous Maritime Amendments (HR-2466). Among the provisions of the bill was one that would have closed a Jones Act loophole that could allow foreign- flag tugboats to assist foreign-flag ships in U.S. ports. While the Ad- ministration did not object to that particular amendment, it said that others were unsupportable, includ- ing one that would have set up a National Offshore Vessel Operators Safety Advisory Committee. The House Merchant Marine and Fish- eries Commiteee plans to add these and other provisions from HR-2466 to another bill. Racal Marine Moves To New Headquarters In Cranford, N.J. Racal Marine, one of the world's leading suppliers of marine elec- tronics, has relocated its United States sales and service headquar- ters to Cranford, N.J. The office was previously located in Florida. According to Robert M. Burns, executive vice president of sales and service, "The move strengthens Ra- cal Marine's sales and service opera- tions and provides a focal point for the dealer network in the United States. We can now better serve our customers throughout the country May, 1986 including those in the Port of New York and New Jersey." Mr. Burns also said that customer service would be improved because of closer access to major domestic and inter- national transportation links.
