Allegretti, former- ly director of domestic waterways at the Transportation Institute, has joined the American Waterways Operators Inc. as vice president- operations. He had been with the Institute for nine years. He will be based at the AWO headquarters in Arlington, Va. George G. Sharp Awarded $300,000 MarAd Contract The Maritime Administration has awarded a $300,000 contract to George G. Sharp, Inc., New York, N.Y., to provide technical support services for reactivation and conver- sion of an Auxiliary Crane Ship (T-ACS). This vessel, the former President Polk, is the third in a series of 12 ships in the T-ACS program. Under its present contract with MarAd, the company will provide project inspection and plan approv- al service for the agency. The proj- ect is expected to be completed next September.
