Tracor Applied Sciences Awarded $5.9 Million For FFG-7 Frigate Services Tracor Applied Sciences Incorpo- rated, Rockville, Md., was awarded a $5,946,004 cost-plus-fixed-fee con- tract for engineering and technical services in support of the FFG-7 frigate class ships. The work, which is expected to be completed Novem- ber 12, will be performed in Rock- ville. Contract funds would not have expired at the end of the current fis- cal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C. is the contracting activity (N00024-85-C- 2178). AT&T Awarded $5.4-Million Contract For Oceanographic Services AT&T Technologies Incorpo- rated, Greensboro, N.C., was recent- ly awarded a $5,468,500 modifica- tion to a previously awarded cost- plus-fixed-fee contract for oceano- graphic services. The work will be performed in Greensboro, and is ex- pected to be completed on Septem- ber 30. Contract funds would have expired at the end of the current fis- cal year. The appointment further high- lights the company's commitment to the marine automation industry. Mr. Tenzer is currently general manager of GE's Drive Systems Op- erations, in Salem, Va., which in- cludes the D.C. Motor & Generator Department in Erie, Pa., and Gener- al Electric's Canadian drive system business. Drive Systems Operations pro- vide sophisticated drives, controls and motors for a variety of auto- mated industries, including marine. Free Brochure On Newco Marine Valves Offered By Newman's Newman's Inc. is offering a free brochure on the company's line of Newco marine valves. The publication features text on gate, globe, check and angle valves. Cross-section diagrams, as well as black and white photographs ac- company the text. According to the brochure, Newco marine valves have been specifically designed for high reliability opera- tion in the confined, corrosive atmo- sphere prevalent in the marine in- dustry. The valves meet the stan- dards demanded by such agencies as the American Bureau of Shipping, U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Navy. The brochure states that each valve is backed by Newman's war- ranty and by the full resources of Newman's Inc. Besides their standard marine valves, Newman's also offers the fol- lowing optional features: soft seat- ing in all bolted bonnet valves; com- plete installment and full testing gear, electric or pneumatic opera- tors; and globe and angle stop-check valve versions. Newman's manufactures the body/bonnet of the marine valves in cast iron, ductile iron, cast carbon steel and forged carbon steel.
