The manifolds are find- ing favor among design engineers working with automated or com- puterized piping systems. Featuring a more positive and more efficient fluid control, these special configurations offer an eco- nomic advantage by reducing the overall number of valves and re- lated control components required by the system. Additionally, pro- gramming for computerized sys- tems is simplified. Valves that can be manifolded range in size from 1/2" to 4", and metals may be selected from 316 stainless steel, carbon steel, bronze and weldex. Pressure rat- ing is 400 psig and seats and seals are available to withstand 500°F temperatures. Several styles of ac- tuators are offered. This specification is: MIL-P-19131, Pumps, Rotary, Power-Driven, Miscellaneous. This specification covers positive displacement, power driven, mis- cellaneous, rotary pumps, and re- quires that manufacturers qualify their products for inclusion in a qualified products list (QPL). When a purchase is contemplated, only those manufacturers whose equip- ment has previously been quali- fied will be solicited. Beneficial comments (additions and/or deletions with suggested new wording) with associated jus- tification and explanation as to how the changes are in the Gov- ernment's interest are solicited, as well as pertinent data which may be of use in improving these documents.
