(APL). The new firm is American Pres- ident Companies, Ltd. (APC). Under the plan, submitted to the board on behalf of APL last month, all capital stock in Nato- mas Transportation Co., the sole shareholder of APL, will be dis- tributed to APC, after which all capital stock in APC will be dis- tributed to the existing Natomas Company shareholders. The reorganization stems from the proposed purchase of Natomas by Diamond Shamrock Corp. Huge Increase In Shipbuilding Orders For Japan Yards New orders for Japanese ship- yards for the month of July in- creased dramatically (almost 500 percent) over the same month in 1982. A July orderbook value at around $888 million was recorded bringing the total backlog for Jap- anese yards to over 11 million gwt for the first time in two years, ac- cording to the Japan Ship Export- ers Association. Maritime Protection A/S Installs Washing Systems On Texaco Tank Ships Maritime Protection A/S, in Norway recently completed the in- stallation of crude oil tank wash- ing systems, an inert gas system and a "Cargomaster Level Sys- tem" on the M/T Texaco Florida and accepted an order for a second system for the M/T Texaco Con- necticut. The combined orders amount to NOK 11 million.
