M a HM m PUTTING FIRE POWER TO SEA West Coast Combat Systems Meeting The Long Beach-Greater Los Angeles and the San Diego Sec- tions of the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE), in con- junction with the Commander Naval Surface Forces Pacific and the Naval Ship Weapon Systems Engineering Station, is sponsor- ing a combat systems meeting to be held Friday, February 18, 1983, at Port Hueneme, Calif. It is the first ASNE meeting of this type to be held on the West Coast. The top-flight pro- gram, entitled "Putting Fire Power to Sea," is part of ASNE's continuing series of meetings, the purpose of which is to achieve stronger professional identifica- tion with combat system engi- neering —- a cardinal element of naval engineering. Since 1978 ASNE has orga- nized a series of meetings, sem- inars, and conferences on topics relating to combat systems which have provided a thoroughly pro- fessional forum for leaders and managers from the government and private industry to share concepts and ideas on mat fee i .< of mutual concern.
