Petroterminal De Panama Selects EMH To Construct Tanker-Loading Buoys EMH, Paris, France, will build two CALM — Catenary Anchor Leg Mooring — buoys for Petro- terminal de Panama, SA. (PtP). The turnkey contract was award- ed through Morrison-Knudsen, acting as agent for the pipeline company. The two SPMs will be built by EMH at the Tamese yard in Spain and installed off the East Coast of Panama in mid-1982. They will be anchored in 80 feet (24 meters) of water, and ea:h will be capable of loading cruie at up to 60,000 bhp into a 150,000-dwt tanker. According to Jean Alleaurre, EMH president, his firm already is building two CALM units sim- ilar to those ordered by PtP. 0:ie will be installed late in 1981 in the Rospo Mare field in the Adri- atic for ELF-Italiana. A second buov is being constructed for Total-ABK and will be installed off Abu Dhabi in the Abu A1 Bu Khoosh field. The PtP project will improve the distribution link between the North Coast Alaska oil fields and Atlantic ports. Halter To Build Supply Vessel For Pelham Marine Halter Marine, Inc., New Or- leans, La., was recently awarded a contract by Pelham Marine, Inc., also of New Orleans, to construct a 180-foot supply boat. The con- tract will bring to an even dozen the number of Halter-built boats to operate under the Pelham flag. The vessel will be powered by two Caterpillar D399 diesel en- gines and will operate in the Gulf of Mexico. It will be built by Halter's Moss Point, Miss., divi- sion and is schedeuled for com- pletion in December 1982. Halter Marine, Inc. is the world's largest builder of supply boats for the offshore oil and gas industry. Name Peter West VP Of Transway Operations Peter J. West has joined Trans- way International Corporation, New York, N.Y., as vice presi- dent-operations, a newly created position, it was announced re- cently. Peter J. West Mr. West has corporate staff responsibility for marine trans- portation, truck trailer manufac- turing, and liquefied petroleum gas operations, said John W. Wolcott, president and chief ex- ecutive officer of Transway. Mr. West most recently had been senior vice president-opera- tions at UMC Industries, Inc., a diversified industrial company in Stamford, Conn.
