ICC Grants Hunter Marine Regulated Cargo Authority For Western Rivers The ICC recently issued a cer- tificate of public necessity, grant- ing permanent authority to Hunt- er Marine Transport, Inc., Nash- ville, Tenn., to perform barge transportation of regulated cargo on the Cumberland and Tennes- see Rivers and the connecting segment of the lower Ohio River. This is the first permanent au- thority to be granted on the Western Rivers since 1975, and the first on these rivers in more than 10 years. Hunter Marine has been trans- porting unregulated cargo on the Western Rivers for a number of years and operates a bulk termi- nal in Rock Harbor at Mile 175.5 Cumberland River with insured fleeting at Mile 176. New terminal facilities and warehouses are under construc- tion at riverside, separate from but adjacent to the bulk material operation. Hunter will soon offer a full range of intermodal serv- ices, including crating, custom brokerage, and full service stor- age. Bauchspies was re- cently named general manager, logistics and supply for the Gulf Oil Lubricants Company, a divi- sion of Gulf Oil Corporation, Houston, Texas. Mr. Bauchspies joined Gulf in 1968, following five years as di- rector of the industrial liaison department of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and six years of prior overseas service in the oil industry. He has served in a number of planning manage- ment positions for the Corpora- tion and for Gulf Refining & Mar- keting Company, of which the lubricants company is part. Most recently he was manager, tech- nical planning and development in the engineering division of Gulf Science & Technology Com- pany. Wartsila Diesel Appoints Yngue Nordquist As New North American Mgr. The Wartsila Diesel Division— consisting of Wartsila Vasa Fac- tory, Finland, and Nohab Diesel AB Trollhattan, Sweden — an- nounced recently that Yngue Nordquist has been appointed North American regional man- ager of Wartsila Diesel, effec- tive October 1, 1981. He is head- quartered at Wartsila Power, Inc., New Orleans, La., of which he was also appointed managing director. Mr. Nordquist previ- ously was managing director of Nohab Diesel AB.
