Deal Jr., president of Tracor Marine, Inc., recently announced the appointment of Joe Menghi as production control manager and Jack Schmidt as production manager at the com- pany's Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale) shipyard. The added volume of ship repair work from ROLFITE Advanced Combustion Technology Problem: The quality of marine fuel has deteriorated severely in recent years. While the fuel may meet traditional criteria such as specific gravity, viscosity and flash- point, the quality varies widely. This inconsistancy and frequent high levels of contaminants has increased engine wear, caused break-downs, and raised overall maintenance costs. How We Solved wtftThe "Inferior Fuel" ^^""Problem Of The 80's Solution: Rolfite is now making available to all its Admiralty Fuel Treatment customers, a new service that can save ship operators untold time and money. We not only analyze your fuel, we tell you exactly what to do to off- set the quality problems. It's called the "Admiralty A&R Program".. .Analysis and Recommendation. Literature Available From Gems Sensors On New Flow Transducer Literature on a new Flow Trans- ducer designed for continuous flow monitoring is available from Gems Sensors Division, Plain- ville, Conn. Called the FT-200, the transducer interfaces with remote recorders, meters, con- trollers or other instrumentation. It provides an analog signal of 1-10 VDC which is directly pro- portional to flow rate, with a rate of flow accuracy of ± 1 percent. The unit provides direct flow sensing, and monitors liquids within a range of 0.2 gpm to 10 gpm in 1-inch NPT size. Other sizes are available to 3-inch NPT. Standard line sizes are 1-inch to 3-inch NPT. Other sizes may be available upon request. For instant flow data, an FT- 200 option is available for LED local readout. This Gems Flow Transducer provides high reli- ability for monitoring water, oils, gasoline and water-based chemi- cals in a variety of applications. Additional requested analyses will be performed at a nominal Recommendation In 48 Hours Within 48 hours from the time your sample reaches our laboratory, you will be contacted by telex or telephone. (In many cases, you will have our report before you start to burn the new fuel.) Immediate Shipboard Adjustment Specific recommendations are made so you can adjust the treatment ratio levels and nullify the detrimental effects of inferior fuel. Our report also alerts you to possible problems due to high temperature slagging deposits, corrosion and abrasive wear caused by fuel impurities including catalytic cracking fines (CCF).
