Mr. Marchiando, general manager-fabrica- tion, adds responsibility for two other Na- tional subsidiaries — Par Industries, Inc. shipyard in New Iberia, La., that specializes in offshore drilling barges and platforms and Derrick Service International, manu- facturer of derricks, mast, and substruc- tures for drilling rigs. DSI has facilities in Conroe and Tomball, Texas, and Nisku, Al- berta. Mr. Marchiando continues responsi- bility for the company's five machinery cen- ters that fabricate and assemble drilling rigs. Mr. Higbee started with National Supply's parent company, Armco, in 1965 and held positions in research and product manage- ment before joining National Supply in 1980. He has been responsible for management of the company's Advanced Drilling Machine project, the industry's first automated, deep- well drilling rig. He will continue that re- sponsibility. Mr. Marchiando has been a National Sup- ply employee since 1959, progressing through a variety of manufacturing assignments un- til becoming works manager of the Torrance, Calif., plant. After seven years in that as- signment, he was transferred to Houston headquarters in 1979 to assume the new po- sition of general manager-fabrication. Delaval Gets $14.5-Million Contract For Diesel Engines To Power Falcon I Tankers A contract to provide diesel main propul- sion engines for two new 35,000-dwt Falcon Similar to the two tankers for which Transamerica Delaval will provide main propulsion engines is this Falcon l-MSC vessel which entered service in 1975. Twin Delaval diesels power the original ships—a fleet of five. The two new tankers will be equipped with the same engines: Delaval "Enterprise" RV-16, medium- speed diesels. Each 16-cylinder unit is rated at 7,360 bhp. Higbee And Marchiando Get New Responsibilities At National Supply Company David A. Higbee John C. Marchiando National Supply Company, Houston-based oilfield equipment firm, has named David A. Higbee and John C. Marchiando to new man- agerial responsibilities in the National Drill- ing Equipment Division. Mr. Higbee is pro- moted to general manager-manufacturing. He will be accountable for the company's plants in Torrance, Calif.; Gainesville, Texas; and Stockport, England, and for Baylor In- dustries, Houston subsidiary that manufac- tures electrical components for drilling rig power plants.
