Gilbride Named Whitehall Club President John T. Gilbride, chairman and chief executive officer of Todd Shipyards Corporation, will be installed as the 33rd president of the Whitehall Club on Novem- ber 21, 1978, at the club's Presi- dential Ball. John T. Gilbride Mr. Gilbride has been a mem- ber of the Whitehall Club since 1958. He joined the board of gov- ernors at the club in 1966, and in 1974 was elected second vice pres- ident. He became first vice presi- dent in 1976. For many years, Mr. Gilbride has been a leading figure in the maritime industry. He is a staunch advocate of American seapower and a leading spokesman in be- half of the reconstruction of Na- val forces and the American mer- chant marine. Mr. Gilbride succeeds James J. Henry, president of J.J. Henry Co., Inc., naval architects, who served as president of the White- hall Club since 1976. The Whitehall Club, which was formed in 1910, is one of the out- standing maritime-oriented lunch- eon clubs in downtown New York City. Baker Marine Enters License Agreement With Argentine Corporation Baker Marine Corporation, which is primarily engaged in the construction of offshore jackup drilling platforms, has announced its intention to enter into a Li- cense Agreement with Cometarsa, S.A., an Argentine corporation with principal offices in Buenos Aires. Baker Marine Corporation has also announced the formation of Baker Marine Argentina, S.A., an Argentine corporation which will engage in the furnishing of technical assistance to Cometarsa and the energy industry with spe- cial capabilities in the offshore environment. Baker Marine Ar- gentina, S.A. and Cometarsa, S.A., together will offer construction of a full range of offshore de- signs which include mobile self- elevating drilling platforms, pipe- lay barges, semisubmersible drill- ing rigs, a semisubmersible crane, package rigs, mobile production platforms, jackets, and production platforms. Baker Marine Argentina, S.A. will be Cometarsa's exclusive mar- keting agent and, in addition to rig construction, offers the fol- lowing general engineering serv- ices: (1) Design and project management for offshore plat- forms and pipelines; (2) Techni- cal and economic feasibility stud- ies; (3) Structural analysis and YouVe got to play in a lot of games before you can coach at Savannah.
