Two Arabian Projects Totaling $80 Million To Great Lakes Dredge Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company, 228 North La Salle Street, Chicago, 111. 60601, has been awarded two new projects in the Middle East totaling $80,- 000,000, J.A. Downs, president, has announced. A contract has been signed for $15,000,000 with the Arabian American Oil Company to dig an access channel at Ju-Aymah, Saudi Arabia, in conjunction with the multibillion-dollar national gas collection system being con- structed by Aramco, he said. Ju-Aymah is located in the Arabian Gulf adjacent to Dam- mam, where Great Lakes has been working for over one year as part of an international joint venture. In addition, the Chicago-based company has been working on construction of the new port of Jebel Ali, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, since early 1977. The newly announced agreement in- creases the company's revenues in the Jebel Ali area approxi- mately $65 million, Mr. Downs pointed out. Raytheon Marine Opens New York Office Michael Mitchell Raytheon Marine Company has opened a New York regional sales office to handle its lines of marine electronics for the commercial and recreational markets. Six Swedish Yards Now State Owned— Kockums Remains Private The Swedish Government has announced formation of a state- owned shipbuilding company in- corporating six of Sweden's larg- est shipyards. The new company, Svenska Varv AB, is capitalized at the equivalent of about $134 million. With more than 20,000 workers, the new state-owned shipyard will be one of the largest ship- building groups in the world. Only one major Swedish ship- yard, Kockums, will remain in private hands.
