Halter Marine Names A.J. Rizzo Director Of Public Relations Halter Marine Services, Inc., New Orleans, La., has established an Office of Advertising & Pub- lishing Relations, and named A.J. Rizzo director. In making the announcement, Harold P. Halter, president, Hal- ter Marine Services, Inc., said the new office was created to con- solidate and coordinate the pro- motional and public relations ac- tivities of the company's six shipyards in Louisiana and Mis- sissippi, and to continue the development of Halter Marine's advertising and public relations for the company's increasing role in worldwide marine transporta- tion markets. Mr. Rizzo holds a B.A. degree in journalism from Tulane Uni- versity. He was formerly director of advertising and public rela- tions for Alexander Industries in New Orleans, and was associated with Harper & Row Publishers, Inc., and the Lawyers Co-opera- tive Publishing Company. McDevitt Named President Of Three Maritime Firms Ronald F. McDevitt Dr. John J. McMullen, chair- man, has announced the appoint- ment of Ronald F. McDevitt as president of Jefferson Electric Corporation, Merrin Electric Co., and Heat Exchanger Engineering, Inc. Mr. McDevitt was formerly general manager of all turbine operations in New York City and Westchester County (N.Y.) for Consolidated Edison Co. Previ- ously, he was group manager for merger operations with Poloron Products, Inc., and director of manufacturing operations for the African Near East Division of The Singer Company. Mr. McDevitt was graduated from the U.S. Na- val Academy in 1954 and held various engineering and admin- istrative positions in the Subma- rine Force, including command of the USS Sea Lion. After leav- ing the Navy, he attended New York University for a master's degree in business administration. All three companies have re- cently relocated to Hoboken, N.J., to provide more efficient services to the center of the maritime industry. At present, they are actively embarked on a major ex- pansion program to extend their electrical repair, engineering serv- ices and electro-mechanical sup- ply lines to the process and in- dustrial fields.
