Henry Co., Inc., addressed the Metropoli- tan (New York) Section of the American Soci- ety of Naval Engineers at the Whitehall Club on April 2, 1974. During the luncheon meeting, Mr. Zeien spoke on metricaJtion, describing its inevitability and importance, particularly with U.S. goods manufactured for export. He re- lated that once there is a demand for goods built to metric standards, production will fol- low. Further, cost for shipyard conversion to metrication is not prohibitive. The annual election of officers took place at this meeting, with Robert Fricke, Jose Femi- nia and Lt. Greg Labas, USCG, being elected chairman, vice chairman and secretary-treasur- er, respectively. Capt. Lee Mitchell, USN, was elected to the executive Committee. Following the meeting, plaques were pre- sented to Mr. Zeien, the speaker; Capt. Ed Barker, USN, initial chairman of the N.Y. ASNE Chapter; and to Lt. Cmdr. George F. Ireland, USOG, outgoing chairman. New Yard In Texas Building Towboats Crumpler's Shipbuilding Company 'has been formed Iby Crumpler's Machine and Welding Service, Inc., a firm located in the Port Arthur, Orange and 'Beaumont, Texas, area, well- known for machine welding, repair and fabri- cation work. 'Currently under construction at the Crump- ler yard, located in Orange on the Sabine Riv- er, are two 65-foot by 24-foot towboats, which the firm will offer for sale when completed. The duplicate vessels will be powered by D353 Caterpillar engines. James O. Grumpier, president; Dulin Crump- ler, vice president, and Eugene Rambo, weld- ing foreman, make up the key personnel at Crumpler's. Saguenay Shipping Ltd. Announces Staff Changes John L. Eyre, president of Saguenay Ship- ping Ltd., has announced the naming of Capt. C. Sabinsky as vice president and general manager of the firm. Previously vice president, he will be succeeded by Capt. William H. Cook', formerly assistant to the president. Re- placing Captain Cook as assistant to the presi- dent is Capt. Philippe I. Georges. Capt. Rae Gunston continues as assistant to the general manager. Other staff changes include the appointment of John D. Bell as manager of all agency op- erations. Mr. Bell, who will move from To- ronto to Montreal, will be replaced by John D. Brannen as manager of the Toronto office. Stewart C.
