Split awards may be made on the basis of six for the East Coast and six for the West Coast. Four-Barge Tow Construction Underway At Todd Houston Yard The keels have recently been laid at Todd Shipyards Corporation (Houston Division) for two barges of a four-barge integrated tow being constructed for the Alamo Chemical Transportation Company of Houston. The lead barge, Alamo 2000, will measure 295 feet by 52 feet by 12 feet, and the box barge, Alamo 2001, will measure 300 feet by 52 feet by 12 feet. The other two barges of this tow are already being erected. Each of the four barges have single- skin bottoms and double-skin sides. The overall length of the four-barge tow will be 1,040 feet. The barges are being built to U.S. Coast Guard re- quirements and will be certificated by the USCG for river service. De- livery of the completed four-barge tow is scheduled for the latter part of July 1971. Levingston Building $10-Million Drillship For Global Marine Levingston Shipbuilding Co., Or- ange, Texas, has received an order from Global Marine, Inc. to construct a $10-million drillship of the Global Grand Isle Class. The vessel will be 11,200 dead- weight tons and 400-feet long. It will be capable of drilling a 25,000-foot well in water up to 600 feet. Delivery is scheduled in the spring of 1972.
