Curtis Bay Towing Names Capt. Schuyler To Board Of Directors Capt. Tarleton A. Schuyler Capt. Tarleton A. Schuyler, vice president and general manager of Curtis Bay Towing Co. of Vir- ginia, has been appointed to the board of directors, it was an- nounced by Capt. F.J. Hughes, president of the company. Captain Schuyler, who joined Curtis Bay in 1941 as a deckhand at Baltimore, Md., has served in various capacities in the company, afloat and ashore. He was trans- ferred to Norfolk in 1957. Curtis Bay Towing Co. of Vir- ginia, based at Norfolk, provides towage to ships throughout the Hampton Roads and Chesapeake Bay areas, and additionally per- forms coastwise and ocean towage. C.J. Lozano Elected President Of NAMS At the Twenty-First Annual Meeting of the National Associa- tion of Marine Services, Inc., Car- los J. Lozano of Neptune Supplies, Inc. of New Orleans, La., was elected president of the Associa- tion. Mr. Lozano succeeds James C. Taylor of Baltimore, Md., who has occupied the position for the past seven years. Mr. Taylor was elected chairman of the board. Other officers of the Association elected were : Roy E. Carter, Hous- ton, Texas, senior vice president; C. Willman Brown, Washington, executive vice president and secre- tary, and M.N. Broughton, Nor- folk, Va., treasurer. Elected to the board of directors were: James C. Taylor, Baltimore, Md.; Charles L. Smith, Charleston, S.C.; Stanley Denstad, Boston, Mass.; Carlos Lozano and Chris Berg, both of New Orleans, La.; Donald Crouthamel, San Pedro, Calif.; James Alex, Portland, Ore.; Jerry Kourkomelis, Seattle, Wash., and Roy E. Ball Jr., for the past two years vice president and mana- ger of contract administration for Santa Fe Drilling Co., Los An- geles, Calif., has been appointed regional manager of Southeast Asia for the parent Santa Fe In- ternational Corp. Mr. Ball will headquarter in Singapore. As the senior Santa Fe representative in the area, he will be responsible for Govern- ment relations, business develop- ment, and administration of all Santa Fe drilling and construction activities. Mr. Ball is a 1946 graduate of the University of Kansas with a B.S. degree in mechanical engi- neering. He joined Santa Fe Drill- ing Co. in 1961 as operations mana- ger for the Eastern Hemisphere, with headquarters in London. He was named a vice president in January 1969 and transferred to Santa Fe Springs, Calif., as mana- ger of contract administration. Before joining Santa Fe, Mr. Ball had spent one year with Ku- wait Oil Co. in Kuwait and 14 years with Richfield Oil Corp. in the United States and Peru where, as manager of offshore operations, he was involved in the world's first ocean-floor completions.
