L. Luckenbach Joins Todd Houston Division Lewis Luckenbach Jr. Arthur W. Stout Jr., general manager, Todd Shipyards Corpora- tion (Houston Division), announc- ed that Lewis Luckenbach Jr., has joined the Todd Houston Division as sales representative for ship re- pair and new construction. Mr. Luckenbach, formerly with the Todd Houston Division be- tween 1950-61, has since been as- sociated with Gas Resources Cor- poration and also served as vice- president of Medina Gas Gathering Corporation, both of Houston, Tex- as. For the past three and one-half years he was connected with Kohl- meyer & Company, members of the New York Exchange, as a stock- broker and investment banker in Houston. Bender Welding Bids Lowest For Trawler The apparent low bidder for the construction of an 86-foot stern trawler and scalloper for Cold Spring Fish and Supply, Cape May, N.J., was Bender Welding and Machine Co., Inc., Mobile, Ala., at $313,800. AWO Publishes Booklet Giving Barge & Towing Industry Source Info. The American Waterways Oper- ators, Inc. has released a new pub- lication listing sources of informa- tion on the barge and towing in- dustry. Entitled "The Barge and Towing Industry Catalog of Pub- lications, Films and Information Resources," the 24-page booklet was issued by AWO in the interest of creating a better public under- standing of domestic water carrier operations, and to meet a growing demand on the part of students of transportation and others for a list- ing of such materials. The booklet contains more than 140 individual listings which de- scribe source materials and tells where and how they can be ob- tained. Materials from Federal, state, academic, national associa- tions, and other sources are listed, as well as those offered by AWO. Also listed are libraries with barge and towing industry collections, and maritime publications featur- ing news on the industry. In a foreword, Braxton B. Carr, president of The American Water- ways Operators, Inc., points out that in assemblying the new pub- lication AWO has attempted to make it as comprehensive as pos- sible. Mr. Carr said the Association will seek to make the listing even more extensive by updating the publication periodically. Ingersoll-Rand Sells TurbOtech To Siemens Siemens A.G., the large diversified German electrical and mechanical concern, has announced that it has acquired TurbOtech Inc. from Inger- soll-Rand Company, New York, N.Y. TurbOtech will operate as a subsidiary of Siemens and will con- tinue to market and service, plus have a license to manufacture, Siemens ad- vanced technology steam and heavy duty gas turbines for American in- stallations. Siemens indicated the acquisition of TurbOtech is an additional step in their more direct efforts to further enter a number of American markets for their products. No price or terms of the purchase were disclosed. TurbOtech headquarters will con- tinue to be at 6 East 43rd Street, New York, N.Y. 10017.
