The Hann 50 Military/Patrol Hann Powerboats offers the Hann 50 as a fast interceptor, offshore/inshore patrol boat, or fast attack craft. All Hann Powerboats are on the GSA Schedule and available to local, state and federal government agencies. The standard configuration of Yanmar 480hp diesel motors cou- pled to Arneson Surface drives yields a 50 knot cruise speed while only burning 35 gallons of diesel per hour. Top end is 56 to 58 knots while burn- ing 46 gph. With the standard fuel capacity of 300 gallons, this efficien- cy allows for a range of more than 400 nautical miles (460 miles) at 50 knots. The Hann 50 is available as either an open patrol boat or with a pilothouse for additional protection of crew and passengers. Hann deliv- ered four Hann 50s in the 2010 model year to the U.S. Navy for use as Fast Attack Craft Target Boats. The low profile provides for a low radar signature while the 50-ft offshore deep V hull delivers a ride that reduces fatigue and mitigates shock. Kirby Dupuis to Florida Marine Transporters of Mandeville, La. She joins her sister ship, the M/V Capt. W. D. Nunley in pushing car- goes throughout the inland water- ways of the United States. The M/V Capt. Kirby Dupuis, designed by John Gilbert, is a 120 ft long by 35 ft wide, 10-ft draft, towboat vessel that is four-decked and is outfitted for service in areas restricted to overhead clearances and draft limitations. She is powered by two 2,000 hp 3512C Caterpillar engines, provided by Louisiana Machinery, coupled to Twin Disc MG5600 reduction gears with a 5.04:1 ratio, supplied by Sewart Supply. They turn 100-inch five-blade, stainless steel wheels made by Sound Propeller, on ten-inch shafts. Auxiliary power is supplied by two 175 kW Caterpillar C9 genera- tors. The M/V Kirby Dupuis is an open-wheel boat that holds 58,000 gallons of fuel. The next vessel in the 120-ft series will be a 5,000 hp boat with Kort nozzles. M/V Capt. The all-aluminum boat, like its sisters, features a C. Raymond-Hunt- designed deep-V hull, with a CPI Marine fender system and is powered by twin MTU diesel engines and con- nected to Hamilton water-jets. Top speed is over 30 knots. The pilot- house on a flush deck, with forward- leaning front windows, leads to the forecastle, equipped with a head, gal- ley, berths and lockers. Recessed res- cue wells are located port and star- board at the vessel’s mid-ship. On the foredeck is a mount for a remotely- operated weapon system. The interior is outfitted with Shockwave heavy- duty suspension seats, shock-mitigat- ing floor matting and a heating and air-conditioning system. Equipment includes integrated navigation sys- tems and wireless crew communica- tions and thermal imaging systems. Gladding-Hearn Delivers to USN 44 MN March 2011
