May, 2006 • MarineNews 33 © 2006, Mercury Marine, All Rights Reserved YOU’RE JUST GONNA PAINT IT BLACK ANYWAY. Let’s cut to the chase. We’re not going to sit here and act like we know what it takes to protect, serve and rescue in the face of untold hazards, day in and day out. We just make engines. But the engines we make happen to be the best in the world. Like OptiMax. ® With immediate, backbreaking power, rock-hard reliability and fuel efficiency that outruns the rest. Then there’s the supercharged FourStroke Verado. ® So clean, quiet and powerful, nothing even comes close. In short, engines designed to get you there faster, stealthier and more consistently than anything else you can buy. Which is why, even after you paint over the decals, you’ll still know you’ve got the best behind you. 75 hp 90 hp 115 hp 135 hp 150 hp 175 hp 200 hp 225 hp 250 hp 3.0 Liter Multi-Fuel 135 hp 150 hp 175 hp 200 hp 225 hp 250 hp 275 hp OptiMax ® For more information on our government sales program, call 866-408-6372 or email us at mmobgovsales@mercmarine.com . At the same time this state-of-the-art vessel incorporates, within its 48- foot bean and 16-foot molded depth, the latest in OSV technology. Her main engines will be a pair of IMO com- pliant Cummins QSK60 engines each delivering 2000 hp at 1800 RPM. The mains will turn a pair of Rolls Royce azimuthing drives. Built to a Frank Basil design, the vessel will have two KTA19DM-1 powered 425 Kw ship service generator sets. A 640 hp Cummins KTA19M-3 coupled to a Twin Disc MG5195 gear will power the bow thruster. While the builders will retain ownership, it is reported that Joel Broussard of Gulf Offshore Logistics will oper- ate the vessel. MAY MN2006 5(33-40).qxd 5/9/2006 11:40 AM Page 33
